DATC: Decentralized Air Traffic Control

The DATC project explores decentralized approaches to air traffic management, aiming to reduce per-sector workload without removing human oversight. As traffic volumes grow and next-generation concepts such as NASA's Advanced Air Mobility push toward increasingly autonomous flight, traditional centralized control becomes a scaling bottleneck. This project investigates adaptive airspace sectorization, consensus-based admission control, and data-driven optimization techniques to enable safer and more scalable autonomous airspace operations.
